Back-up power done right
Power that comes on by itself — and stays on safely
A back-up generator is only as good as the install behind it. A wrong-sized transfer switch, an under-rated inlet, an exhaust pointing at a window — these are the things that turn a back-up into a hazard. We size and install yours properly.
We install whole-home standby generators (Generac, Kohler, Cummins), automatic transfer switches (ATS), manual transfer switches and portable generator inlets — and we wire the critical-loads sub-panel so the right circuits stay live: heat, fridge, freezer, sump pump, internet, lighting.
Every install is led by a Certified BC Master Electrician with permits pulled under our contractor licence, gas / propane trade coordinated where needed, and the inspection handled for you.

FAQ
Back-up generators, answered
What size generator do I need?+
Depends on which loads you want to keep running. A typical Vancouver home with heat, fridge, freezer, sump pump and lighting fits comfortably on an 18–22 kW standby. Whole-home with EV and A/C usually needs more — we size it during the quote.
Do I need an automatic transfer switch?+
If you want power to come on by itself when the grid fails, yes. For lower-cost setups, a manual transfer switch or interlock kit with a portable generator works too.
Is a portable generator with an extension cord OK?+
Powering a single appliance directly, yes. Backfeeding through a dryer outlet is illegal and dangerous — it can kill a BC Hydro lineman. Use a proper inlet and interlock or transfer switch.
Do you handle the gas connection?+
We coordinate with a licensed gas-fitter to run propane or natural gas to the unit, and we handle the electrical and commissioning ourselves.
