Panel upgrades done right
A modern service, sized for EVs, heat pumps and the next 30 years
Older Vancouver homes were wired for a different era — toasters, a TV, and a fridge. Today's homes add heat pumps, EVs, induction ranges, hot tubs and home offices. A 60A or undersized 100A service simply can't carry that.
We replace Federal Pioneer Stab-Lok panels, Zinsco panels, fused 60A services and tired 100A services with modern 100A, 200A or 400A panels — with AFCI / GFCI protection, surge protection, and proper labelling.
We coordinate directly with BC Hydro for service disconnects and reconnects, pull the Technical Safety BC permit under our contractor licence, and stay on-site through the inspection.

FAQ
Service panel upgrades, answered
How long is power off during an upgrade?+
For a typical residential upgrade, power is off for most of one business day. We plan the BC Hydro disconnect window tightly so you're back online the same evening in most cases.
Do I need 200A or 400A?+
Depends on what you're powering. EV charging, heat pumps, A/C, induction range, hot tub or a secondary suite usually push past 100A. We do a load calculation as part of the quote and recommend honestly.
Is my Federal Pioneer Stab-Lok panel safe?+
These panels are a known concern — many insurance companies now require replacement. We assess the panel and recommend whether replacement is appropriate.
Do you handle BC Hydro and the permit?+
Yes. We coordinate the BC Hydro service disconnect / reconnect, pull the Technical Safety BC permit under our contractor licence, and complete the final inspection.
