Renovations done right
Renovation-ready electrical, built for how you actually live
Renovating an older Vancouver home almost always means upgrading the electrical. Knob-and-tube, aluminum branch wiring, undersized 60A or 100A services, and missing GFCI/AFCI protection are all common — and they all need to be brought up to the Canadian Electrical Code before drywall closes in.
Electric Hero is a full-service residential electrical contractor. We handle the assessment, permits, rough-in, inspection coordination, and trim-out for kitchens, bathrooms, basements, additions, laneway homes and whole-home gut renovations across Vancouver, Burnaby, Richmond, the North Shore and the Fraser Valley.
Every renovation is led by a Certified BC Master Electrician, fully insured and bonded, with clear fixed pricing and a written scope before we lift a tool.

FAQ
Renovation electrical, answered
Do I need a permit for renovation wiring?+
Yes — any work that adds, moves or replaces wiring in BC requires a Technical Safety BC electrical permit. We pull the permit under our contractor licence and handle the inspections for you.
Can you work alongside my contractor or designer?+
Absolutely. We coordinate directly with general contractors, designers and other trades to keep your renovation on schedule and inspection-ready.
Will my existing panel handle the renovation load?+
We'll do a load calculation as part of the quote. If your panel is undersized or out of date, we'll quote the upgrade in the same scope so there are no surprises mid-project.
How long does renovation wiring take?+
Most rough-ins are 1–3 days depending on scope. Trim-out happens after drywall and paint and is usually completed in a single day.
